REGINA v HUGHIE NOEL THOMAS
CASE NO: POLTD/0506/0401

Ged,
This case was being dealt with by Mick Matthews.

When the Court made the Confiscation Order in the sum of £9,596.68, £1,500
was to be paid from Norwich Union funds. Thomas gave his authority for the
Norwich Union to discuss the policy with the Post Office and make payment of
the sum of £1,500. The Norwich Union was not prepared to pay up without the
whole policy being realised. A necessary Consent Order was drawn up and
forwarded to the Defendant. His half of the policy amounts to £2,354.58.

I am enclosing a signed Consent Order forwarded by the Defendant. At this
stage it is a little unclear how much will actually be received.

Please note that Thomas will also be asking the Alliance and Leicester to close
his account. He has proposed to forward a cheque equivalent to the total
balance in the account to his Solicitors who will in turn hand it to Royal Mail.

I have informed Mr Thomas's Solicitors that the accounts are no longer frozen.
