Reading through the Prosecution and Defence Summaries, I don’t think there is anything there for me to comment on
specifically.

Good news with the Sefton & Nield case. It was listed for a mention today. The trial date has been vacated and is now
listed for the week commencing 15th April 2013. The defence wish to commission their own expert report.
The attachments will most likely be the same, but do ask if you have any queries. Fingers crossed about Dixon.

Thanks for the info.
{think I have most of the attachments already but will check that they are the same.
One point: in the week of 21" January (Sefton and Nield case in Liverpool), I am not available on 23™ January as I had
booked leave for that day for a non-work-related matter which I am unable to change easily.
Other dates are currently OK ~ subject to commercial cover being sorted with POL.
The name Jamie Dixon does ring a bell. I'll see what I can find out.

2. Kim Wylie - Listed for trial week commencing 4th March 2013 at Newcastle Crown Court - Pencil in the whole of
that week 4th - 8th March.
3. Sefton & Nield - Listed for trial on 21st January 2013 at Liverpool Crown Court - I will find out how long the trial is
expected to last for but pencil in the whole of that week just in case.
4. Grant Allen - This case is listed for a Plea and Case Management Hearing (PCMH) on the 24th January at Chester
Crown Court - You will not be required to attend court on that date. I have asked my colleague Andy Bolc to check if
anything else is required. It will likely be a case of waiting to see what happens on the 24th January to see if Allen enters
a guilty plea or not on that date. If it does go to trial, I will update you with the trial date as soon as I hear anything.
5. Ishaq - Listed for trial on 25th February 2013 at Bradford Crown Court- Report Required *
Please could you prepare a report for this case. I have attached a copy of the defence case statement, summary of facts
and indictment for your consideration. Essentially the defence are saying that Ishaq was not dishonest, and that he had to
make reversals in order to balance, as there had been a 'malfunction’ with the Horizon system. This is fairly urgent as the
trial date is the end of Feb.
Please let me know if you require any further information in order to compile your report.
6. Jishaan Patel - Listed for trial on 26th February 2013 at Preston Crown Court- Report Required *
Please could you prepare a report for this case. I have attached a copy of the Indictment, case summary and DCS for
your consideration, do let me know if you need any further details so that I can liaise with the investigator directly.
7. Jamie Dixon - listed for trial on 12 August 2013 at Exeter Crown Court- Report Required *
Please could you prepare a report in this case. Copies of the documents that you will need to consider are attached.
There is an additional element to this case which involves the defendant himself. Mr Dixon has apparently worked for
Horizon for 12 years and was involved in the testing of the Horizon system. This is obviously crucial to our case as one
could argue that he has a considerable amount of experience of Horizon, which would undermine his assertion made in
his DCS that he did not have sufficient training etc to understand what he was doing. I have attached a copy of his
interview transcript which details his experience.
I do not believe that the Post Office hoid any record of Mr Dixon's personnel file for his time spent working for Horizon. Is
this something that Fujitsu would hold a record of? Particularly if Mr Dixon took part in the testing of the Horizon
system? Please could you advise me how to obtain such a record if there may be one in existence.
The Dixon report is less urgent than the reports foi“! and Ishaq, given that the Dixon case is listed for trial in August
(although this date may well be brought forward).
Please could you provide.a_report for the case of Ishaq first, followed by th: I soonessand Dixon report. You may have
already noted that thei“ee“!and Ishaq trial are listed almost at the same timé 25th & 26th Feb. I will clarify how long each
trial is expected to last for and work with trying to juggle your attendance at each trial. Please pencil the whole of the
week commencing 25th February 2013 in your diary. The court date for trial may vary once the defence have received
your report.

I provided a Statement on 5/10/12. However I am not required for the trial in January, so
presumably can cross this off my list.
2. Kim Wylie: I provided a statement on 27/11/12. [have a trial date of 4/2/13 pencilled in {a whole week in
Newcastle}
3. Sefton & Neild: I provided a statement on 5/12/12. I have no trial dates for this. is anything further required?
4, Grant Allen: I provided a statement on 17/12/12. Given the circumstances, I have been asked (by Fujitsu
management) to investigate further exactly what occurred at the time of the allegedly bungled relocation in
March 2010. This may result in a follow up statement. I have no trial dates for this. Is anything further
required?
5. Ishaq: Nothing done yet. When is anything required?
6. Dixon: Nothing done yet. When is anything required?
7. Jishaan Patel: Nothing done yet. When is anything required?
Please can you confirm the above and suggest priorities for what else you need of me (and any other dates I need to be
