Mr Brian Trotter,

Contracts Manager,

Post Office Ltd., Upper Floors,
The Markets Crown Office,
6-16 New York Street,
LEEDS. LS2 7DZ.

Dear Mr Trotter,
147 869 9 — Suspension,
acknowledge receipt of your letter of 23 July, received on Saturday.

have tried to contact you by telephone this morning and have left a message on
Voice Mail. Hopefully I can speak with you in the next day or so.

While I accept that there is a cash shortage at the Branch I would like to assure you
that there was never any intention to defraud Post Office Ltd. I recognised last autumn
that my shop business required a cash injection to keep going and to that end I
initiated the sale of some property. Unfortunately delays by the Selling Agents and
then by the Planning Authority meant that by the end of January 2008 no sales had
been completed so I approached my Bank to borrow on anticipated land sales. The
Bank agreed in principal subject to planning permission being granted. Following
further delays, planning was finally obtained in May and since that time on a weekly
basis I have been assured by the Bank’s Business Manager that the loan would be
completed “next week”. In fact I received the final Agreement document last
Saturday, 26" July.

Thad no right to use Post Office money to prop up my business . [ have lived for the
past six months in day-to-d tation of a Bank Loan to make good any Post

Office shortage. I am bein; i
summer which may explain my lack of judgement.

I would like to discuss repaying Post Office Ltd. and would ask that it is taken into
account that over the past fourteen years Bayhead Shop has on many occasions helped
out Post Office Ltd, with cash when unexpected withdrawals at the Paible Branch
have left it short or when Cash Remittances have been late (usually because of aircraft
flight cancellations).

yours sincerety,

"GRO
