Mrs Rayner asked me to visit in the summer to discuss the problems she has had
with the Horizon computerised system. My understanding is that Mrs Rayner has
now insisted that the system be removed but she does highlight what she perceives
as deficiencies to the system that threaten the viability of small Post Office outlets.
I should appreciate a review of the matter and your advice.
Thank you.

Dear Mr Leigh,
Post Office - Horizon computerised system
I write in order to update you on my position with regard to the Post Office here.
When you visited us we drew to your attention some information that is available on
the internet, and we have now attended a meeting of some of these former
subpostmasters who have found themselves in a similar position fo ours — under
financial and/or legal difficulties as a result of the inaction of POL’s management to
address failures of the Horizon system and to provide support and training.
I know that you are actively involved in trying to keep rural Post Offices open but my
view is that anyone would be unwise to take over a Post Office until these matiers
have been publicly acknowledged and corrected - indeed, as this becomes more
widely known Post Offices are likely to be difficult to sell.
Thank you for your interest.
Yours sincere)...
