Thank you for your letter of the 2™ April and I do apologise for taking so long
to get back to you.
We are, as you say in close discussion with ICL Retail Systems to see how their
expertise in general across the retail marketplace could be of value to POCL
and the systems we are developing.
As you will probably know, the systems architecture on the counter uses
RIPOSTE middleware to link the counter applications with the underlying
windows NT operating environment. This being the case, all applications we
are generating are written to the RIPOSTE API and this is a discipline we shall
continue to pursue. We have no plans to use GlobalSTORE in this context.
It was kind of you to write, but in the circumstances I don’t think we will be
able to take your suggestions forward.
