Count 2. ALAN WILLIAM MCLAUGHLIN on a date unknown between the 27" day of
December 2000 and the 4" day of January 2001, in the County Court Division of
Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to gain for himself or another or with intent to
cause loss to another, falsified a document required for an accounting purpose, namely a
computer add list of paid pension and allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period
ended the 3“ day of January 2001 accounting week 41 by making an entry therein which
was or may have been misleading, false or deceptive in a material particular in that it
purported to show that 16 orders each for the amount of £298.80 had been paid, whereas
only 15 orders for the amount of £298.80 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of

the Theft Act (Northern Ireland) 1969.

Count 3 THAT HE on a date unknown between the 10" day of January 2001 and the 18" day of
January 2001, in the County Court Division of Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to
gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, falsified a document
required for an accounting purpose, namely a computer add list of paid pension and
allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period ended the 17" day of January 2001
accounting week 43 by making an entry therein which was or may have been misleading,
false or deceptive in a material particular in that it purported to show that an order
amounting to £163.40 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of the Theft Act

(Northern Ireland) 1969.

Count 4 THAT HE on a date unknown between the 24" day of January 2001 and the 1* day of
February 2001, in the County Court Division of Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to
gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, falsified a document
required for an accounting purpose, namely a computer add list of paid pension and
allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period ended the 31% day of January 2001
accounting week 45 by making an entry therein which was or may have been misleading,
false or deceptive in a material particular in that it purported to show that 11 orders each
for the amount of £206.40 had been paid, whereas only 10 orders for the amount of
£206.40 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of the Theft Act (Northem Ireland)

Count 5 THAT HE on a date unknown between the 7th day of February 2001 and the 15th day of
February 2001, in the County Court Division of Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to
gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, falsified a document
required for an accounting purpose, namely a computer add list of paid pension and
allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period ended the 14th day of February 2001!
accounting week 47 by making an entry therein which was or may have been misleading,
false or deceptive in a material particular in that it purported to show that 2 orders each
for the amount of £292.80 had been paid, whereas only I order for the amount of
£292.80 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of the Theft Act (Northern Ireland)
1969.

Count 6 THAT HE on a date unknown between the 28" day of February 2001 and the 8"" day of
March 2001, in the County Court Division of Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to
gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, falsified a document
required for an accounting purpose, namely a computer add list of paid pension and
allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period ended the 7" day of March 2001
accounting week 50 by making an entry therein which was or may have been misleading,
false or deceptive in a material particular in that it purported to show that 2 orders each
for the amount of £108.94 had been paid, whereas no orders for the amount of
£108.94 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of the Theft Act (Norther Ireland)
1969.

Count 9 THAT HE on a date unknown between the 26" day of March 2001 and the 3“ day of
May 2001, in the County Court Division of Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to
gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, falsified a document
required for an accounting purpose, namely a computer add list of paid pension and
allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period ended the 2! day of May 2001
accounting week 6 by making an entry therein which was or may have been misleading,
false or deceptive in a material particular in that it purported to show that 2 orders each
for the amount of £92.40 had been paid, whereas no orders for the amount of
£92.40 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of the Theft Act (Northern Ireland)
1969,

Count 10 THAT HE on a date unknown between the 9" day of May 2001 and the 17" day of
May 2001, in the County Court Division of Belfast, dishonestly and with a view to
gain for himself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, falsified a document
required for an accounting purpose, namely a computer add list of paid pension and
allowances for Brookfield Post Office for period ended the 16" day of May 2001
accounting week 8 by making an entry therein which was or may have been misleading,
false or deceptive in a material particular in that it purported to show that 2 orders each
for the amount of £103.40 had been paid, whereas only I order for the amount of
£103.40 had been paid, contrary to section 17(1)(a) of the Theft Act (Northern Ireland)
1969.

and on the 17" February 2005 it was ordered that he be sentenced as follows:

Counts 2,3,4,5,6,9 + 10

It is ordered that the defendant do pay the sum of £100.00 for fine on each
count payable within 26 weeks.
The Judge ordered that the defendant do pay the sum of £1300.00
compensation payable within 26 weeks, and in default 45 days
imprisonment. Compensation payable to: Consignia
