Following Al’s challenge below I have (with Mark D’s assistance) further amended the introductory paragraph

Thank Jane.

I suppose my gut reaction is that they both sound fairly grim because of the focus on a potentially material
adverse claim.

I wonder if we want to add a sentence explaining why we are defending it - after several years of seeking a
resolution we have seen no evidence to justify this action and do not believe we should use public money ete.

Thanks Al

Paula, Al

Following the ARC last week we have considered revised wording for the contingent liability disclosure which is now
attached for your comment. Subject to any thoughts you may have, I would like to send this to the ARC members
tomorrow. Tom Cooper has flagged that he also wants to review it within UKGI.

This has been reviewed by legal and Comms. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Kind regards,

Jane
