Grimsby, and confirms the other members of staff who work there. G.B.
says that in relation to Post Office work she only serves customers, along
with other members of staff, leaving the daily and weekly accounting to
her husband David.

G.B., states that David Blakey ordinarily inputs the overnight cash
holdings figure in to the Horizon system. G.B. states that David inputs all
the weekly balance figures on the horizon system and produces the cash
account. G.B. states the she feels that she would not be able to produce
the cash account as she has never done it

G.B. states that her and David went to Cyprus earlier in the year and the
office was run my Debbie, an assistant, however she did not produce a
cash account as they had authority to produce a two-week cash account.

In relation to the events of the morning. G.B. states that she informed her
husband that the auditors were at the office in their normal morning
telephone call, he immediately attended the office and spoke to her
mentioning a discrepancy in the cash, however she was in a state of shock
and didn’t quite take it all in. At no time did he say to her that he had
taken the money.

G.B. says that David had told her that the money had been missing about
three months, but them later said that it might have been a little longer.

year, G.B. says that he didn’t tell her that.

some superb balances. One thing that did surprise her was one week
when the office got around £1000 back from a giro error but upon
checking the account it showed a nice balance.
