I have seen Jane’s comments already and have nothing further to add on the two letters. However I
do have on the press statement and my suggested changes are in red. These might not be the right
words but I want to indicate that we haven’t simply gone through the motions rather we have done so
with our eyes wide open.
“This has been an exhaustive and informative process which has established that there are no system-
wide problems with our computer system and associated processes. We will now look to resolve the
final outstanding cases as quickly as possible."

These are core in the sense they are the most public documents we will be releasing. The Swinson
letter will be tabled in Parliament by BIS and is most urgent: once Paula is content it needs to be with
BIS early on Monday. Apologies.
I would be grateful for your comments, preferably in email text rather than tracked changes.
I have separately sent the Swinson letter to Paula.
In addition I tweaked the exec summary today, and have sent that too to Alice and Paula. Mark U has
latest version. It removes the VFM para - Alice has agreed to this.
Finally I will read the full report today or tomorrow.
