Thanks for joining Henry and I when we spoke earlier.
Two quick things.
Firstly, I mentioned to Henry after we’d spoken that I’d meant to say that I thought it would be
beneficial to the board to appoint a women as to the vacancy if possible to provide a bit more
balance to the board. He did say he’d pass it on to you, but I thought I’d email just in case.
Secondly, I think the view from the shareholder is quite strong that the SID should be an external
appointment, rather than coming from the existing board. If the consensus view looks like its
heading somewhere different to that, might you be able to suggest to Henry that he might want
to have another chat with Charles (my boss) before he proceeds? I realise it’s a decision from
the board, but it would probably be worth him discussing it with the shareholder/UKGI before he
proceeds given the strength of feeling.
