Dear All

You may recall that at its meeting in February the Board asked for further (external) advice on
Project Sparrow focussing in particular on:

e alternative mechanisms that could be used to deal with the current cohort of mediation cases; and

e quantifying POL’s legal and financial exposure.

To assist our preferred law firm, Linklaters, focus their efforts a scoping document has been

produced (now cleared internally) setting out the range of questions that need to be answered (see
attached draft). Linklaters have already commenced work based on that document, but given the
importance of this matter, we would be interested to know whether there are any further,
specific, questions that the Board would like Linklaters to address. As the timing of this work has

been brought forward from the April to the March Board meeting, it would be greatly appreciated
if you could let me and/or Belinda have comments (if any) on the attached as soon as possible.
(Please cc Alwen to enable her to keep a file note of the responses).

A separate paper on insurance is also being prepared by Chris Day for consideration at the March
meeting.

With kind regards

Chris Aujard
