At the time of this representations, the Business Select Committee was taking evidence on this issue.
I was also aware that many of my parliamentary colleagues had heard from their constituents with
similar accounts, They expressed concerns about the management of the mediation scheme, and I was
also worried to hear that the Post Office had been able to act as a prosecutor in these cases without
the involvement of the Crown Prosecution Service.

During Prime Minister's Questions on 1* July 2015 (Hansard Column 1477,) the Prime Minister noted
that the outcome from the Post Office's inquiry had not satisfied many Members on both sides of the
House and the Under-Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills was tasked to convene a
‘meeting to decide on future actions. Please advise me on the outcomes of the meeting and the
Government's current stance on this issue. We ought not to tolerate this apparent injustice.
