Hi — not very comfortable with the comment on the second page saying we definitely will get a second opinion. We may
well do, but shouldn’t we make it more conditional (to avoid sending POL in to a bit of a spin).

Elizabeth has forwarded me the below and asked that I briefly update you on the meeting with POL.
POL seemed initially reluctant to set out any protocol arrangement, however did become more receptive to the idea
over the course of the meeting. We have therefore drafted up a general guidance protocol based on the protocol we
discussed for OS. We would refine this before sharing with POL, for example including more bespoke detail on their
hearings in respect of touchpoints and removing point 2, however feel it is important that UKGI and BEIS Legal are
aligned and therefore would appreciate your comments on this as a general outline for future use.
We are aiming to share this with POL by the end of the week, and therefore would appreciate if you could let us have
any comments at your earliest convenience and by COB Thursday at the latest.
