FIRST STATEMENT OF BRENDAN NUGENT
I, Brendan Nugent, will say as follows...
INTRODUCTION
1. lama former employee of ICL Fujitsu and held the position of Operations
Manager. (I am not 100% if this was my actual job title but in essence this was
my role)
2. This witness statement is made to assist the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry
(the ‘Inquiry’) with the matters set out in Rule 9 Request dated February 9th,
2023 (the ‘Request’)

3. I have been asked to make a statement regarding my time in this role when I
was working on the support desk for Post Office Counters Limited.
4. In respect of this, I can confirm that I was employed by ICL Fujitsu during from
April 1998 to 2000. I am not sure of the exact date of leaving. Overall, I
worked there for approximately 2 years.
5. In respect of 4, I can confirm that for a period during my employment [perhaps
6 months approx.] I was responsible for the day-to-day operational
management of the helpdesk that supported Post Office Counters Limited and
the Horizon system.
6. I have little recollection of the specifics of the Horizon system as I was nota
technical manager but more so an Operational Leader.
