PRE TRIAL REVIEW. DECEMBER 2006

The above named Defendant appeared at Basildon Crown Court on 23” October
2006.

Items 1-8 on the draft Schedule of Admissions prepared by Prosecution Counsel
was agreed, however, the remaining items remain to be decided upon prior to
Trial.

The witnesses required to give evidence at Trial are Peter Riches, Alan Lusher,
Anil Chowdhry and Nick Kerr.

Although we received a letter from the Defence purporting to enclose their
Client's Defence Statement, in fact, they enclosed a copy of Defence Counsel's
Advice. This was returned to the Defence with a request that the Defence
Statement is forwarded to this Office at the earliest opportunity. To date we have
not yet received a copy of the Defence Statement and are therefore not in a
position to comply with secondary disclosure which the Court has directed should
be served by 24'" November 2006. I have today written to both the Defence and
our Agents requesting that a copy of the Defence Statement is forwarded to this
Office as a matter of urgency.

At the above hearing apparently the Defence mentioned the following items as
matters which they require in relation to further disclosure.

1 All statements not yet served
2 Any and all records, notes and correspondence from Royal Mail relating

to Mrs Palmer throughout the period she was a Subpostmistress.

It also appears interview amendments were submitted but again these have not
been received at this Office. A copy has been requested.

3 A further Pre Trial Review is listed on Friday 8° December 2006.
