Thanks Martin - I will attend as instructed.

To save on paper do you want to send a set of the committal papers? I have the A.I. which has all
the statements (but no exhibits as such). I would only need the indictment (if you do that at this
stage) and any other documents you may want me to serve?

A matter for you but it is only a formality as you know.

Best regards
Bob

Subject: Lynette Jane Hutchings 10.4.12 Portsmouth Mags Court

Dear Martin

I attended as instructed and the Deft arrived at 2.30pm without representation. She was unable to
secure legal aid and so requested assistance from the Duty Solicitor who was Julie Ferguson. The
advance information was handed to the Deft by the Court officers and she in turn handed it to the
DS.

I had a productive chat with the D.S. who then took instructions. After 30 mins the D.S.
indicated to me that there would be "no plea". However she anticipated that the Deft would
probably plead not guilty in due course.

The case was called on at 3pm and I made representations in accordance with our discussions. I
also amended the charge deleting "a" before "representations" and this was accepted by all
parties. The D.S. also made representations about venue supporting the points made by me and
indicating that she could not fully advise on plea as she had only just had a chance to look at the
papers but did not want an adjournment. That is why she advised her client to say no indication
of plea.

The Mags decided to decline jurisdiction. The matter is to be committed to Portsmouth Crown

4 Court. The committal date was set for the 6.6.12 at 10 am at the Mags Court. The Deft was
remanded on unconditional bail to appear at court at 9.45am. The Mags directed that committal
papers should be served by the 23.5.12.

I am assuming you may want me to do the committal but if this is not the case then will you want me
to return the papers you have forwarded? With the Royal Mail they always send me a copy file and
dont require me to return it to save on post! I do have a proper storage facility.

I will not render my invoice until the case is completed (in this case committed). I will send it to
Jarnal Singh as instructed.

If you require any further information or have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you for your instructions.

Best regards
Bob Booker
