I was extremely pleased with how this morning’s meeting went. I had rather thought we
might run into some difficulty at this stage, and know how troubling this would be for us all.
T hope that the Post Office and Mr Bates come to an agreement about how to deal with
these current cases, and how to resolve the difficulty of bringing these cases to you, and I
also hope you didn’t mind me suggesting that he deals with the Post Office direct rather
than considers me a broker of an eventual agreement. I am happy to step in, if you think
this might help, but my suspicion is that it may slow the pace.
My office will keep passing cases that come to us via MP's offices to the Post Office, for
transmitting on to 2™ Sight. I would also be grateful if you could simply keep me informed
about how things are going. I certainly don’t need a blow-by-blow account, but I want this
entire process to work to all our advantages, and so am of course interested in the outcome.
