Legal privilege/confidential/do not share this email
1. fattach a form of letter which comes with approval from POL Legal (and approval from WBD and CartwrightKing
—see email below); this letter is a generic update letter to go to Prosecutors concerning Horizon issues. You
will see that you will have to add the name of whoever from Security is sending this letter and also that it will
require you to send further updates once the Horizon Judgment from the GLO is available.
2. Apart from the Prosecutor in Northern ireland dealing with the Andrea Gourley case (see below) POL Legal
advise that the attached letter should be sent by POL Security without delay to each Prosecutor which received
your previous Horizon “Disclosure for CPS” letter in the past/any other Prosecutor thereby providing a Horizon
related update. Please can you ensure within Security (assuming you are content with the attached) that the
attached letter is sent out to those Prosecutors accordingly. If there is any uncertainty, please let me know.
3. Helen, the attached letter should also be sent to the Prosecutors in those cases you emailed Legal about this
morning where there have been Guilty Pleas meanwhile.
4. As for the Northern treland Prosecutor dealing with the Andrea Gourley case; Legal are finishing working on a
response to therm which (a} deals with the questions raised by the Defence and (b) which includes an update on
Horizon ~ so Simon ~ please do not send the attached letter to that Ni Prosecutor in the Gourley case~ we
should have a bespoke letter for them ready for you during the course of today / tomorrow.

Thanks for your email and phone call. Andy and I have now discussed the generic letter (final version attached) and we
are happy that the small changes in the specific letter don't cut across what we are saying here. CK already approved this
letter on Friday so it is now ready for Rod to approve.
We've made some very small changes to the specific letter in light of Martin/Ben's emails and as requested have sent this
back to CK for final approval. We have informed CK of the urgency and will continue to chase them so I'll get the specific
fetter back to you as soon as I can. i have also raised with them the point 4 in your email to Helen regarding cases where
a guilty plea has been entered in the meantime.
