Subject: FW: Post Office: updates on Horizon and Board appointments
Hi Andrew

I just wanted to check whether the Minister had seen this note and if your office are liaising with POL for a date for a
meeting with Tim Parker. If you need anything else from me on this do just let me know.

Thanks

Laura

Subject: Post Office: updates on Horizon and Board appointments

Andrew, Sophie
Two brief updates on Post Office for the Minister before the break for Recess.
1. Meeting with Tim Parker on Post Office Horizon

We understand from Post Office that Tim Parker’s review into the Post Office Horizon matter is progressing as
planned, with the majority of the work to be completed before Christmas. Tim will therefore be looking to finalise
his review around mid-January.

We would like therefore to try and get an appointment in the Minister's diary for late January / early February. I
appreciate that that Minister's diary will be very busy with the Trade Union Bill at that time. Perhaps you could
check with the Minister when she might like to meet Tim, and then arrange a convenient date for both with Tim’s
assistant Diane Blanchard (diane.blanchar “please. Diane is aware that you will be in touch.

2. Board appointments

Post Office are preparing for the two Board appointments: the Senior Independent Director (SID), Ken McCall, and
the Audit, Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee Chair, Carla Stent. Post Office expect to announce the
appointments early in the New Year — the reason they have not announced yet is for Ken McCall’s benefit, since he
is a serving executive at Europcar Group who are listed in France, and the announcement could impact them. Post
Office are working with both Ken and Carla already to provide induction materials and information to allow them to
hit the ground running in January. Richard Callard from the ShEx team has also met both Ken and Carla recently to
help get them up to speed.

We will update the Minister when we have an agreed date for the appointments to be announced. They will be low
key announcements — probably just a Post Office press notice.
